Mechanical Engineer - Jakarta
Role Synopsis :
- Mechanical Engineer role in multi billion pound, high profile LNG project based in Indonesia. Currently in the SELECT stage, this LNG expansion project is projected to go to the FEED stage in mid 2013, mobilise to site in 2015 and move to Production in 2019. The project scope includes a new LNG train, an additional LNG tank, an integrated LNG/condensate loading jetty and condensate storage facilities. Offshore there will be a phased development of platforms, pipelines and development wells to supply gas to the new integrated onshore receiving facility. The Mechanical Engineer will report to the Mechanical Team Lead and will play a major role in overseeing the Mechanical engineering work in support of safe and efficient operations.
- This role will be primarily involved in providing engineering support on mechanical static equipment, including vessels, valves, piping and storage tanks, heat exchangers, stress analysis and loading, and lifting equipment. Other areas of Mechanical equipment will be covered and opportunities to get involved with other machinery may be presented.
- Act as Mechanical Technical Authority for the project and lead mechanical system specification and design activities
- Implementation of BP MPcp and Engineering and Quality Management expectations within discipline area
- Oversee engineering quality performance for mechanical systems
- Ensure mechanical systems are designed, supplied, installed and commissioned to meet first year operational performance criteria.
- Maintain a clear understanding of planned against actual progress for mechanical engineering and procurement deliverables and intervene where necessary to maintain schedule.
- Oversee the procurement of major equipment packages for static equipment including development of criticality assessments, quality plans, requisition specifications, technical bid evaluations and surveillance of manufacturing and test programs
- Ensure suppliers and contractors comply with BP safety policies and standards and ensure that the necessary requirements of BP safety reviews are met during the design process.
- Ensure that the project team works closely with Operations to identify and capture standardisation opportunities so that life cycle costing considerations are fully reflected in mechanical equipment definition.
- Network with other projects and functional experts to facilitate knowledge transfer/lessons learnt and ensure operability, maintainability and reliability of mechanical equipment.
- Technically evaluate request for exceptions/deviations to relevant ETPs standards and specifications and advise the Engineering Team Leader and EA on technical integrity issues
- Liaise with SPU TAs, and E&P SETAs as appropriate
- A minimum of Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive Mechanical engineering experience.
- Able to write job notes with sketches, specifications, and instructions on repairs.
- Awareness of OSHA (Occupational, Safety, and Health Administration) standards.
- Working knowledge of several computer software applications including Microsoft Suite and SAP.

Role Synopsis :
- This is a mid to senior level role in multi billion pound, high profile LNG project based in Indonesia. The Civil Engineer will support the end to end onshore scope for the Tangguh expansion project in Indonesia. Currently in the SELECT stage, this expansion project is projected to go to the FEED stage in mid 2013, mobilise to site in 2015 and move to Production in 2019. The project scope includes a new LNG train, an additional LNG tank, an integrated LNG/condensate loading jetty and condensate storage facilities. Offshore there will be a phased development of platforms, pipelines and development wells to supply gas to the new integrated onshore receiving facility. This major BP site is based in a geotechnically difficult area and will present daily challenges to the successful candidate.
- The role is to provide engineering technical advice and support to the BP Tangguh team in their management of onshore civil, structural & marine engineering issues; contribute to the development and maintenance of the associated BP Engineering Technical Practices and technologies.
- Provide civil engineering discipline input to Engineering Services teams to ensure that the design intent is being delivered to provide safe, reliable operations delivering production targets and availability.
- Review civil engineering deliverables produced by contractor to ensure compliance with BP standards.
- Prepare ITB of Engineering contracts of Tangguh modifications and/or TAR.

The project scope includes a new LNG train, an additional LNG tank, an integrated LNG/condensate loading jetty and condensate storage facilities. Offshore there will be a phased development of platforms, pipelines and development wells to supply gas to the new integrated onshore receiving facility.
- The prime objective is to ensure that the project team and contractors apply the BP Tangguh Assurance Strategy in a structured and consistent manner and this involves close alignment and cooperation with the EPMS contractor’s QA leads for each project. A key aspect of the role is to bridge between the contractor and the BP teams to ensure that assurance processes are developed, understood and implemented across the projects under the technical guidance of the QA Lead in the Engineering team.
- Assist the QA Lead and the project managers in developing the project quality objectives for the Tangguh project.
- Participate in the development of the project Quality Management (QM) specifications in conjunction with the EPMS contractor QA Eng.
- Input to the development of detailed procedures to be applied into engineering procurement and construction activities. Provide QM input, advice and oversight to the implementation of these procedures by the EPMS contractor.
- Advise and support specifying engineers on the processes to be put in place to manage to manage certification and Inonesian QM Requirements.
- Liaise with the Tangguh supplier quality management (SQM) team in the implementation of supplier qualification processes.

The position of Quality Assurance/Integrity Management Engineer will be responsible for:
- Ensuring application of appropriate standards and levels of quality in design, engineering, equipment manufacture, fabrication, installation, Hook-up and Commissioning (HUC) and documentation through all of the project Capital Value Process (CVP) stages.
- Establishing the project quality program and for close alignment with facilities delivery teams to develop joint quality objectives.
